Eight Ways We’ve Prepared for Disaster Recover

Our goal is to continue to protect and grow your money in the event of emergency

Our goal is to be prepared for any type of foreseeable emergency and be back on our feet and operational in as short a time as possible. Most importantly, that there  be no loss of data or connection to the ongoing protection and management of your investments.

We prepared a formal Disaster Recovery Plan, as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission that covers preservation of data, systems, communications and business continuity.

Here are eight components of our Disaster Recovery Plan that are designed to accomplish our goal:

  1. We have a formal Disaster Recovery Plan, which involved thinking through the types of potential disasters we might face and how to deal with the difficulties each creates.
  2. We have an off-site, redundant location, office computer server, with offsite backup of important data.
  3. We have an off-site, redundant location, web server that hosts this website, in order to provide one more means of communication with you in the event of emergency.
  4. We’ve chosen a well-prepared custodian, Charles Schwab, where your investments are kept. Schwab also has redundant locations and computer systems to protect your investments and data.
  5. Everyone in our office can do their jobs remotely, via laptop, from anywhere with internet access
  6. We have a means of reconnecting our team and communicating, after an emergency, that is not dependent on our physical Dallas phone lines or office space.
  7. We invest your money using a complete strategy – that includes both an offensive strategy and a defensive strategy to help guard against serious market declines.
  8. We continually review, refine and evaluate the potential risks we may face in order to continue to deepen our preparation.
